OLIGNO A bit of history The city rises at the centre of Umbrian Valley and is surrounded by stone walls, and for a large part, by the Topino river. Fulgina, of ancient origin, fell to the Rome after the battle of Sentino (295 A.C.) started asa Municipium then as a Prefect. During the various centuries it encountered many events: destructed by the Saracens and Hungarians, rose during the period of Barbarossa, it grew and as a free city, at the beginning of the XIII century, and joined the State of the Church. The city was occupied by the Ghebellines from 1227 to 1305, when they affirmed the domination of Trinci. The glorious domination had a violent epilogue in 1439, when the city returned to the domination of the Church, and therefore, remaining the napoleon parenthesis until 1860, year in which it became part of The Italian Reign.
